On this page, I will respond to criticism that I have frequently received.

Just because a tank exploded in RahXephon, it doesn't mean that RahXephon is copying Evangelion.

100% correct. But, the point I'm trying to make isn't that a tank exploded in both shows; it's that several events occurred in the exact same order in both shows. The tank is just one of those events. I'm not trying to point out the tank - I'm pointing out that everything happened in the same order and in the same manner in some episodes.

RahXephon was copying Yuusha Raideen/[insert anime here], and Evangelion was copying Ideon/[insert anime here].

Even if those two statements are true, they are irrelevant. If RahXephon intentionally copied Raideen, that doesn't erase any of its similarities to Evangelion. If Evangelion was copying another anime, that doesn't erase any of RahXephon's similarities to Evangelion.

Some of your similarities are grabbing at straws, and don't prove that RahXephon copied Evangelion.

The gallery's purpose is to be a gallery of similarities, not to convince you that RahXephon copied Evangelion. You might believe that numerous similarities are proof of imitation, or you might not.

A lot of your 'similarities' are stereotypical to the giant robot genre. RahXephon and Evangelion are both giant robot shows, so they will obviously have some of the same elements.

Remember - while Evangelion did borrow from other giant robot shows, it also contained many original and unique aspects that previous giant robot shows did not contain. RahXephon featured many tropes of the giant robot genre, but also featured many elements that were exclusive to Evangelion.

Just because X happened in RahXephon and X happened in Evangelion, it doesn't mean that RahXephon is imitating Evangelion.

One similarity, by itself, is not convincing. The fact that there are 160 similarities is more significant than any single one of them.

All of the similarities are only surface-level, cosmetic similarities.

If you think so, you probably only read one or two pages and didn't read the commentaries. There are dozens of similarities that are not cosmetic in nature.

Some of those screenshots are taken out of context!

It's not important what context the similarities are taken from. If it appears in both RahXephon and Evangelion, it's a similarity, so it will be featured in the gallery.

RahXephon is different from Evangelion because...[reason here]

It is true that RahXephon also has differences from Evangelion. But that's not the point of the gallery; the point of the gallery is to showcase similarities.
